how to reach Syros

Travelers from Athens and the neighboring islands of the Cyclades can reach the island of Syros in a short time.



By plane:

There are daily flights connecting Syros and Athens “Eleftherios Venizelos” International Airport. The  flight lasting no more than 35 minutes. For detailed information visit:

By ferry:

From Athens, frequent daily ferry services run to Syros from all ports located near the airport “El. Venizelos “.

· From the port of Piraeus to Syros, the journey lasts approximately 3.5 hours by ferry or 2 hours by speedboat.

· From the port of Lavrio to Syros the journey lasts approximately 5 hours.

· From the port of Rafina (during summer only) to Syros the journey lasts three hours.

Direct connection between airport and all ports is available, either by bus or by taxi. Piraieus port  is also connected by metro (line 3)  with a transit in Monastiraki station (line 1).



If you are travelling to Syros via Athens, we suggest that we organize  a tour of the city on your behalf. Your stay in Athens may or may not include accommodation.


A private car with a driver can meet you at the airport and remain at your disposal in order to give you a tour of Athens, where you will have the opportunity to see the Constitution Square, the Parliament, the Presidential Palace, the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Panathenaic Stadium (Kallimarmaro), where the first modern Olympic Games took place in 1896.

On the island one can move comfortably and safely with the local transport network of Syros that connects Ermoupolis to most villages and beaches.


Regarding Hermoupolis, free routes with the Minibus serve those who want to move around the market and the shopping area.

Syros has a sufficient fleet of taxis equipped with GPS and Tablet for fast passenger service; furthermore a 24 hour call center ensures constant communication with the vehicles.
